CDFJ implements the project “Digital Media Arts for an Inclusive Public Sphere” in partnership with the British Council.
The overall goal of this project is to contribute to enhancing the general knowledge of young people and social media users about the differences between freedom of opinion and expression, hate speech and incitement to violence, by identifying action strategies.
The project aims to achieve the following specific objectives:
Increasing Jordanian youth’s tolerance on social media for different opinions and beliefs by emphasizing the foundations of freedom of expression as a civil right and the necessity of exercising it responsibly, while understanding the difference between it and hate speech.
Encouraging young people to express their discourse on social media in accordance with the responsibilities implied by the civil right to freedom of expression and not to engage in hate speech or incitement to violence.
