CDFJ | King Abdullah II Fund For Development ( KAFD )

This project, which is implemented in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, aims to build the capabilities of the media units in 10 Jordanian political parties, specifically the capabilities of the youth and women in these units, with the aim of enabling them to use digital media to reflect the goals and programs of these parties, increase their mobilization and support, in addition to increasing their ability to polarize in the period before the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in the last September 2024.

The project is implemented over a period of 5 months (5/2024 until 9/2024), and includes the following work methodology:

  1. The first stage: the stage of selecting the 10 political parties and conducting a needs assessment of their media capabilities, and their capabilities to use digital tools and social media platforms to reach society and reflect the activities and goals in each party’s digital media. The needs assessment will also include an assessment of the capabilities of youth and women in media units, their skills in leadership, discourse, and negotiation, the extent of the parties’ ability to produce digital materials, and whether or not these parties are using digital media strategies.
  2. The second stage: The stage of building the capabilities of young people in the media and communication units of the selected parties on leadership skills, oral and written communication, and negotiation.
  3. The third stage: The stage of building digital media strategies for political parties, which will take place through training, supervision and follow-up.
  4. The fourth stage: the stage of developing digital content and using social media platforms. This stage will be done by building the capacity of the targeted parties on transmedia techniques, the creation of digital storytelling, script writing, how to write captions, how to formulate visual copy and hashtag strategies, and the use of social media sites.
  5. The fifth stage: The stage of producing digital content that contributes to informing society about the parties’ goals, programs, and the preparations they are making to run in the elections. This training will be a practical training, during which one content will be produced (a one minute short digital story) on a specific topic chosen by each party. This training includes digital story script writing and digital content production.
  6. The sixth stage: the stage of producing podcast episodes with the political parties targeted by the project. This phase will include the production of 5 podcast episodes, each episode targeting two political parties, and lasting 40-60 minutes. These episodes will focus on the history of the establishment of these parties, their programs, activities, organizational structures, and their preparations to run in the parliamentary elections in September 2024.
